Soulful Serenity by Jinggoy Salcedo

“Soulful Serenity” is a visual metaphor for abundance, growth, and the cyclical nature of life through the depiction of trees in sculpture by Jinggoy Salcedo. Trees are often seen as a symbol of resilience, perseverance, and hope. This symbolism is deeply ingrained in many cultures and has been a source of inspiration. As a glass and metal sculptor and now a farmer, Salcedo narrates his calming and simplistic life in the province and the beauty of the nature surrounding him.

Within a collection of 18 decidedly organic bonsai sculptures, made from stainless steel and multicolored glass, Salcedo’s signature style takes a new form in relief. Instead of his usual rooted and grounded freestanding trees, his latest series branched out as if like a forest canopy. Having the immense technical aptitude to execute even the most minute detail on a medium heavily reliant on nuances, Salcedo illustrates branches weaving an intricate pattern against the wall where the leaves represent his artistic maturity and the continued expansion of his art.

“Soulful Serenity” captures the calmness and tranquility Jinggoy Salcedo felt moving to the province and seeing the abundant flora there. He discovered that a calming artist’s space directly affected his creative process. For Salcedo, the abundant natural beauty surrounding you can motivate and encourage productivity and creativity in your daily life. That is why trees are his favorite subject; they remind him of the opportunities for personal growth, allowing us to focus on what truly matters to us.
