Blooms and Bounty by Janddie Castillo

“Blooms and Bounty” is a visual metaphor for the concept of abundance and generosity through the depiction of trees in painting by Janddie Castillo. Trees have a lot to teach us about growth, stability, and, most importantly, sharing what is ours. In a world filled with beautiful trees, there is a captivating sight of one with lively, vibrant-colored foliage resembling a tree with abundant fruits. Castillo believes that by keeping your tree’s fruits solely to yourself, there will be missed opportunities to share abundance where everyone’s needs are met, compassion flows freely, and the beauty of our collective humanity blossoms in full splendor.

Using his signature spattering technique, reminiscent of Seurat’s Pointillism, Castillo creates 23 illustrious acrylic paintings where each streak, spots, and splash of color represent the fruits of hard work and patience. This metaphor tells us that we all have talents, resources, and opportunities to share with others, but sometimes we hesitate because we worry it might take away from what we have. In the triptych “Silver and Gold Bush” in this series, the evenness of abundance reminds us that by nourishing others, we enhance the beauty of our own trees and deepen the connection between us all.

“Blooms and Bounty” is a gentle reminder that sharing what you have welcomes more abundance. Like the layers of paint that present these impressionistic themes, Castillo continues to express his art in the spirit of fruitful giving.
